CFP and CFR: The Journal of Contemporary Archival Studies (ed. Rosemary K.J. Davis) and the ICHORA Program’s Publication Subcommittee invite presenters at ICHORA 2024 to submit their work to a special issue of the online-only journal to be published in early 2026, along with an introductory contextual essay. We are also looking for peer reviewers to assist in reviewing submissions for this issue.
ICHORA 2024 marks the first time that the International Conference on the History of Records and Archives is held in a location in the Global South. However, as early as ICHORA 2005, held in Amsterdam, there were speakers who highlighted colonial and postcolonial recordkeeping and indigenous methodologies of archival praxis. The conference in 2024 builds on this momentum and represents a broader global and more truly international academic community.
The ICHORA Publication Subcommittee invites presenting authors to consider a wide range of topics and to work with them during and after the conference. Research articles in The Journal of Contemporary Archival Studies will be included in a careful peer-review process. Length can range from 15 to 20 single-spaced pages, or approximately between 7,000 and 10,000 words. The submission must be in English and must be received electronically by February 1, 2025, for consideration. It should be work which has substantially not been already published.
Further requirements are described here: https://elischolar.library.yale.edu/jcas/policies.html#articlecontent
